CRTC is an award-winning, student theatre company at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough, NC. Our Company has competed across the state and has won awards from the North Carolina Theatre Conference, the NC Young Playwrights Festival, and the International Thespian Society State Festival.
The goal of the program is to build and nurture creative expression and individuality among our artists as we present classic and contemporary works within the performing arts.

The Director
Evan Mitchell joined Cedar Ridge in 2017. He was awarded as CRHS Teacher of the Year in 2021. Evan is a professional actor, director, and teacher who has performed locally, internationally, and in New York. He has worked with St. Ann’s Warehouse, Torry Bend Productions, ManBites Dog Theater, The Carrack, Delta Boys, Lab! Theatre, Pauper Players, PATP, UGPA, KTC, GSW, and RLT. He trained at UNC Chapel Hill, UNC School of the Arts, and the Lecoq-Lees studio in France. He also ran the theatre department at the North Carolina Governor’s School West summer program for nine years.
Evan is a North Carolina native with a passion for education. His favorite subjects to teach include mask, Viewpoints, puppetry, circus skills, and an ensemble-driven approach to creating quality theatrical work.
